Ten for Ten Fundraising Challenge Starts Celebrations
Since 2010 Countryside Mobility has helped thousands to enjoy exploring the coast and countryside of South West England with friends and family. In partnership with some of the region’s best beauty spots the initiative of disability charity, Living Options Devon, provides all-terrain mobility scooters (Trampers) for hire at around 50 different locations.
While plans for its 10th birthday celebrations have been disrupted by the current context, one aspect which is going ahead this month (October) is a special Ten for Ten fundraising challenge.
Participants can choose their own physical challenge based around whatever exercise they most enjoy and the number ’10’. Thanks to staff and volunteers at Living Options there is already a team of over 10 people taking on a range of challenges from running 10 laps of an assault course (while being squirted with water pistols!) to taking on 10 different dance exercise routines, wheeling 10 minutes a day to running 10 x 10 kilometre runs in the month.
Maintaining our Memory Making Machines
The Challenge is raising funds to give some of the oldest all terrain scooters – known as Trampers – some much needed TLC. Some have now been going ‘uphill and down dale’ for the full 10 years and would benefit from a refurbishment to replace key parts and smarten up. By doing so they’ll be able to continue taking people to beautiful places to enjoy special times with friends and places.
Sponsor or Join our Fundraising Team
If you’d like to sponsor the team as it takes on the Ten for Ten Challenge please visit our fundraising page: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fund/TenforTen
And if you’d like to take part by coming up with your own Ten for Ten Challenge to complete in October we’d love to have you on our team! Just email teresa.pollard@livingoptions.org letting her know what you plan to do.
