Easy access to amazing spaces

Countryside Mobility

Countryside Mobility provides safe, enjoyable access to some of the most scenic locations in the South West (and beyond), through an off road mobility scooter (Tramper) hire scheme. It is for anyone who has difficulty walking.

We have partnered with over 50 outdoor attractions and beauty spots to offer a network of hire locations. Hiring is as easy as 1-2-3:

1. Find where you'd first like to hire a Tramper and book with the site direct
2. Join when you first hire - you are now a Countryside Mobility member
3. Explore - your membership enables you to hire across our network!

Countryside Mobility is a not-for-profit service run by the charity Living Options, based in Exeter.

Like all the Living Options projects, Countryside Mobility was inspired by someone with lived experience – a keen walker who loved the great outdoors, but struggled to access the countryside as mobility became more challenging.

Alongside Living Options, our goal is to enable you to enjoy exploring beautiful places with friends and family. Find out the difference it makes by watching our video.

Working together for your enjoyment

We equip partner organisations to offer all terrain scooter hire. We help sites to set up and offer the Countryside Mobility service.

From coast to countryside, gardens to historic estates, country parks to hilltops, you’ll love the varied locations on offer through our network. Join once and then you'll have access to over 50 beauty spots.

The scooters, known as Trampers, are easy to use, safe and designed for the roughest terrain. Don't worry if you wouldn't normally need to use mobility equipment - that's the case for many using the scheme - it's easy and quick to learn and you will be given a full introduction when you first hire.
