Tramper Hire during Current Lockdown

Date Posted: 6 November 2020

Latest News of Tramper Hire Availability

Although we are still to receive confirmation from a small number of partner hire locations, we have now received updates from the majority and have produced a new list showing the current status at each location.

Please go to our Current availability webpage where you can download the list in Word or Pdf format.

The variations reflect the type of attraction, the staffing available at the location and other factors. While there is a much reduced selection we are pleased that there are some locations still available to enable you to continue accessing the countryside and outdoor opportunities which are recognised as particularly important for physical and mental health.

Advice for using Tramper Hire during lockdown

Since the original lockdown, Countryside Mobility has worked hard to provide safe use of Tramper hire. A range of precautions are being taken by partner sites and we would ask for your help, particularly at the current time when there is a need to prevent transmission and respect the rules of the lockdown.

The following actions will help you play your part:

  • Stay Local  - Outdoor exercise is one of the exceptions to the general emphasis on staying at home. But the Government guidance also states that you should only travel locally.
  • Advance booking - This is all the more important as not only does this enable some of the hire process to be completed in advance (rather than in person) but also makes it more manageable for hire locations where staffing is generally reduced.
  • Precautions -  To help prevent transmission we would ask you to follow general hand washing advice and, if you are able to do so, using a face covering during the time when the Tramper is being hired to you. We'd ask you to take account of your potential vulnerability to the virus.

Thank you for your continued patience and support during these difficult times. We greatly appreciate it and will look to keep you informed as the situation evolves.
