Wyre Forest
The Wyre Forest is one of Britain’s largest remaining ancient woodlands and provides the perfect place to escape and enjoy nature.
The Wyre Forest Park, managed by Forestry England, offers a wide range of options for the whole family and the introduction of Tramper (all terrain mobility scooter) hire enables you to enjoy a choice of three walking trails:
- Wren Trail – 1.2 km (0.8 miles)
- Woodpecker Trail – 3.5 km (2.2 miles)
- Buzzard Trail – 5 km (3 miles)
More information on the walking trails here
Each trail showcases a different aspect of this beautiful woodland whether you are exploring the ‘Valley of the Giants’, easing up Callow Hill, or spotting the sleeping Gruffalo. Don’t forget to visit the arboretum where there are dozens of different trees to spot.
After all that exploring you’ll have built up an appetite and will want to take advantage of the tempting refreshments at the Forest Park’s cafe.
Booking the Trampers
Two Trampers are now available for hire.
To avoid disappointment advance booking of the Tramper is strongly recommended, ideally with at least 72 hours notice. Email wyre@forestryengland.uk stating the day that you would like to hire a Tramper and leaving your name and contact details.
If you do not have access to email then you can call 0300 067 4935 (although note that the phoneline is not always staffed and therefore you may need to leave a message).
