Described as ‘one of the finest gardens in Britain’ the 12 acres that make up these gardens where Dartmoor meets the Tamar Valley can now be explored by Tramper (all terrain mobility scooter).
A Plantsman’s Paradise
This was the description given by local garden presenter, Toby Buckland, to this beautiful attraction which offers year round interest whether its the annual Snowdrop Festival, the autumn colours in the Acer Glade or wisterias, azaleas and rhododendron that are spectacular in the summer.
The gardens have differing characters too – from the walled gardens and lake found on the eastern side of the property to the meadows and streams, cottage and summer gardens on the western side.
The cafe has an excellent reputation for its homemade cakes and other refreshments so don’t miss a visit before or after your Tramper hire.
Explore with Ease
The Garden House is in a steep sided valley so the Tramper really comes into its own enabling you to take the puff out of the hills and enabling you to explore with friends and family. Its all terrain design is perfect for tackling the gradients and varies paths even if this is your first time using mobility equipment.
