The all-terrain Tramper scooter allows you to explore the cobbled streets of the harbour and village at the bottom of the island and the garden which provides unique views of the Castle and Cornish coastline.
St Michaels’ Mount is open for visits from mid March to late October. Consult the website for more details.
Unfortunately, the gradient to the Castle is too steep to recommend as safe for Tramper users to access.
Accessing the island (please read): The Tramper is based on the island and is not used as a means for reaching the island.
The island is connected to the mainland at low tide by a cobbled causeway which is uneven, can be slippery and has sloped ramps at each end. Read more about the causeway here. This includes daily timings of when access is possible by causeway or would be by boat.
At high tide, the island can only be accessed by boat which is accessed via steps.
