Explore Seaton Wetlands, a nature watchers’ paradise near Seaton in East Devon. This Green Flag award winning park has a network of paths that will connect you to various wetland features, an Information Centre (the Discovery Hut) and several bird hides and viewing platforms where you can watch birds close up.
The site was featured on BBC Countryfile in 2025 and was previously voted Voted Best Place to spot Wildlife in Devon by Which? Travel magazine. It even has its own stop on the popular Seaton Tramway which passes the reserve.
Hiring the Tramper
Tramper hire is available Monday to Saturday (when trained staff and/ or volunteers are on site).
Pre-booking is ESSENTIAL to avoid disappointment as staff are not always on-site and opening hours are limited. A minimum of 48 hours notice is required. Please use the email address in the contact details.
There is no hire fee but a donation of £5 is encouraged to help to offer this service. Parking is by Seaton Cemetery and free with a £1 donation invited. Please note that the car park is around 200 metres (on a flat tarmac path) from The Lookout hut where the Tramper is hired from. This is the first building that you come to when walking from the car park.
Users must have a working mobile phone or be accompanied.
To avoid disturbance to wildlife, no dogs are permitted on site (except assistance dogs). .
