A fabulous 280 acre clifftop and countryside paradise, which forms part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. The site includes a mosaic of nationally important wildlife habitats: sea-cliffs, downs, ancient meadows, hedgerows, woodland, and dry-stone walls. There are a number of trails that can be experienced on the Tramper:
The Clifftop Trail – 0.5 miles.
Woodland Trail – 0.5 miles, more acccessible route. Ideal short route for families, access depends on weather.
Lighthouse Walk – a shorter, direct route to Anvil Point Lighthouse and back. Ideal for novice Tramper users.
The Meadow Trail – 0.8 mile loop around the flat, grassy wildflower meadows.
- Path surfaces – compacted limestone chips, tarmac, woodchip, pavements, grass. The first three trails are accessible in any weather, although may in places be muddy if it has been wet.
- Path gradients – some hills and steep sections, uneven in places
- Tramper users must be accompanied to operate bridle gate latches along paths
Leaflets for each Trail are available from the Visitor Centre, where all of the Trails start. The Visitor Centre is a must for all – recent wildlife sightings, daily and monthly displays all ensure the latest information for visitors. Live pictures from the seabird colony on the cliffs and sound from an underwater hydrophone.
