Opening up the great outdoors

Countryside Mobility helps people with limited mobility explore the South West’s most beautiful outdoor places with confidence and freedom. Through our network of partner sites, we provide safe access to all-terrain Tramper scooters, so everyone can enjoy the countryside, coast, and heritage sites that make our region special.

About us

Disability Together

Because every ability matters

Countryside Mobility is one of several services run by Disability Together, a charity that supports d/Deaf and Disabled people to have a voice and to live their life, their way. We help remove barriers and open up new opportunities.

Formerly known as Living Options Devon, Disability Together has grown from its grassroots beginnings to offer a wide range of support for Disabled people, people with long-term health conditions and members of the Deaf community – helping individuals live the lives they choose.

A not-for-profit service making outdoor adventure accessible

Originally established in 2010 with support from Natural England’s Access to Nature programme and funding by the Big Lottery Fund, Countryside Mobility is an award-winning, not-for-profit Tramper hire scheme.

We work with a wide range of partner organisations, from large national bodies to small local attractions, who make our all-terrain Trampers available to visitors. To ensure every experience is safe and enjoyable, each site undergoes a professional access audit carried out by trained access auditors with first-hand experience of living with a physical disability.

Working together to make more places accessible

Our growing network of over 60 hire locations stretches across the West and Wales, offering access to gardens, forests, coasts, lakes, hilltops, and heritage sites.

Partners include national organisations such as the National Trust, Forestry England, Natural Resources Wales, and the RHS, as well as local authorities and independent attractions.

Each partner shares our vision of making the countryside accessible, invests financially by leasing or owning the Tramper, providing staff time for hiring and maintaining the routes used.

Join our growing network

We’ve also helped our friends at Outdoor Mobility establish a similar service in the North of England, and your Countryside Mobility membership can be used there too.

If you’re an outdoor attraction interested in joining our partner network, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch to learn about our support packages for leasing or owning Trampers at your site.
